Amy Bjornson - Sunrise Medical Australia

Trained as a Physical Therapist in the United States, Amy has over 20 years' experience working with the adult and pediatric neurologic populations, with specialties in the treatment of spinal cord injury & evaluation and provision of assistive technology for clients with physical challenges. She was the director of the Seating and Mobility Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts and provided consultation services to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Amy currently develops and implements national and international training programs on using Assistive Technology to enhance inclusion, health, and well-being in those with physical disabilities. She also serves a product improvement and development role for Sunrise Medical Australia.

Amy focuses on providing sound solutions that create positive results, even in challenging environments. She consistently implements innovative ideas focused on improving the lives of people with disabilities. She assisted with foundation of Australia's chapter of GoBabyGo, a charitable organization dedicated to early mobility for very young children.

Amy is a dynamic speaker who has lectured extensively on seating and mobility, wound management, and the physical therapy treatment of spinal cord injured clients. She has also traveled to several developing countries, learning and sharing information with their medical communities.

Amy received her ATP certification in 1995, SMS certification in 2015, and Australian Physiotherapy certification in 2018. She is a friend of NRRTS and a member of RESNA. She is an active member of Wheelchairs for Humanity, Health Volunteers Overseas, and offers technology support to Hidden Treasures Home, Fuzhou China.

Amy is an avid cyclist and appreciates the beautiful coastline of Sydney, but still misses the mountains and snow of Colorado.

Angie Kiger - Sunrise Medical USA

Angie Kiger - Sunrise Medical USA

Angie joined Sunrise Medical in April 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Longwood University and a Master of Education degree in Assistive Technology from George Mason University. In addition, she has earned a certificate in Assistive Technology from California State University at Northridge. Angie is an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS), and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).

Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work with clients ranging from infants to adults with a variety of diagnoses in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has also worked as a contractor providing Assistive Technology evaluations and trainings in schools and in the community. In addition to working as a clinician, Angie has served as an adjunct instructor at George Mason University and presented at numerous conferences in the United States and beyond.

Angie has become known in the CRT industry for her engaging presentation style, diverse knowledge base, passion for advocacy, and dedication to improving the lives of each individual she comes in contact with. She has been featured in and written articles for numerous trade publications. She is a member of the Mobility Management Magazine Editorial Advisory Board. In 2018 she was recognized by the National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (NRRTS) board of directors with the NRRTS Leadership Award.

In 2016 Angie began traveling to the Dominican Republic with a group of CRT industry colleagues as a part of "Propel DR." This all-volunteer mission group focuses on training local therapists, medical professionals, and educators through lectures and hands-on trainings. In addition, the group runs a week-long pediatric wheelchair clinic with local therapists and technicians providing complex rehabilitation to more than 50 children each year.

When she is not working, one of Angie's favorite places to relax is Topsail Island Beach, North Carolina, sipping on some real sweet tea.

Devis Trioschi - Sunrise Medical Italy

Devis Trioschi - Sunrise Medical Italy

Graduated in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Sport Science, Devis previously worked for 14 years in one of the most known centers for Assistive Technology in Italy dealing mainly with seating posture and powered mobility devices for adults and children.

Since 2007 he has lectured extensively both in training courses and national conferences on the topics of AT, wheeled mobility, seating & posture management, autonomy, and quality of life of people with disabilities.

Previously, since 2009, he has gained experience in the coordination of interdisciplinary teams. He has been a lecturer in the Physical Therapy Degree Course at the University of Ferrara and he is currently a lecturer in Occupational Therapy Course at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He believes in multidisciplinary teamwork and in integreation of field experience and evidence-based practice. He considers very important sharing experiences and information concerning his job.

Faith Brown - Sunrise Medical UK & Éire

Faith Brown - Sunrise Medical UK & Éire

Faith has 19 years of international experience in the field of seating and mobility including an extensive career in the British National Health Service, as well as the private and not-for-profit sectors.

She believes in tailoring clinical training programs so that participants leave feeling energized with new practical applications to their work. She enjoys integrating field experience and evidence-based information along with emerging concepts from facilitation and design. Workshop participants have fed back 'she knows her stuff' and (perhaps Faith's favorite) 'you have a good sense of humor on you.'

Faith is an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with a postgraduate certificate in Postural Management for People with Complex Disabilities from Oxford Brookes University. She is a member of PMG (Posture and Mobility Group).

Outside of work, Faith usually has a project in process, often involving some form of DIY.

Federico Rizza - Sunrise Medical Italy

Federico Rizza - Sunrise Medical Italy

Based in Italy, Federico graduated with a bachelor of Health Sciences (Occupational Therapy) degree from University of Pavia in 2017. He is the youngest Occupational Therapist that joins this Sunrise Medical Clinical Team, he is a talented and brilliant clinician despite his young age. He gained experience with a lot of internships in different facilities, being able to see different clinical realities, from spinal units to neurological rehab, working with blind or visually impaired patients always targeting independence in ADLs.

Federico is now one of the Product Specialists for Sunrise Medical Italy, his focus is manual wheelchairs, pediatric, and seating & posture. With his creativeness he supplies relative lack of experience, and thanks to his determination he keeps growing knowledge day by day, and is now ready to share his ideas with others to keep the learning process going.

Federico has lots of interests in his spare time, passing from skiing through steep mountains to surfing rolling waves under a sunset sky.

Linda Bollinger - Sunrise Medical USA

Linda Bollinger - Sunrise Medical USA

Linda Bollinger joined the Sunrise Medical team in the fall of 2018 as a Clinical Education Manager. She has a BS-MS in physical therapy from Long Island University, Brooklyn. In May 2018, she earned her DPT from Utica College. In addition, she received her ATP certification in 2000.

Prior to joining the Sunrise Medical team, Linda was a Director of Rehabilitation at Long Island Select Healthcare (formerly UCP Suffolk). Her experience at UCP included developing and operating a seating and mobility clinic for individuals with disabilities. Although this clinic primarily served adult patients, she had successfully created a pediatric seating clinic at a local school for multiple disabled students years prior to joining UCP. Linda has shared her knowledge and experience running seating clinics at local community health events, guest lectures with local physical therapy and occupational therapy university programs, and most recently as a TA at Touro Physical Therapy program.

Linda looks forward to her new role at Sunrise Medical and providing Continuing Education to therapists and ATPs.

Mayari Solórzano-Chavez - Sunrise Medical Latin America

Mayari Solórzano-Chavez - Sunrise Medical Latin America

Maya has been with Sunrise Medical since May of 2014. She is the primary contact and Clinical Educator for Latin America. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 2006 from the University of Costa Rica. She worked five years for one of the biggest distributors of medical equipment Costa Rica ordering and delivering complex rehab products. This gave her the opportunity to position people of all ages, diagnose, and respond to their postural needs.

In 2011, Maya moved to the United States and obtained her ATP certification from RESNA and worked as an ATP before joining the team at Sunrise Medical. During her career with Sunrise, she has had the opportunity to deliver clinical sessions to physicians, PTs, and OTs in Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Colombia, Uruguay, and other countries in the region in their own language. She also trains dealers on Sunrise Medical products and systems as well as informs them when new products are launched.

When not busy improving people's lives with complex rehab technology, she is a mother of two adorable children. She likes to exercise and go for fun adventures with her husband and kids to the beautiful mountains of the Central Valley in California.

Sheilagh Sherman - Sunrise Medical Canada

Sheilagh Sherman - Sunrise Medical Canada

Sheilagh Sherman joined Sunrise Medical Canada in 2010 as a Clinical Educator. Prior to joining Sunrise, Sheilagh gained extensive clinical experience working in a variety of settings, including neurological rehabilitation, complex continuing care, and community rehabilitation. As the Clinical Education Manager, Sheilagh is a clinical resource for therapists across Canada involved in seating and mobility. She leads workshops, seminars, and webinars on the clinical aspects of seating and mobility. In addition, Sheilagh has presented at national and international conferences on seating and mobility.

Sheilagh also has an educational background that makes her well suited to the role of Clinical Education Manager. Sheilagh earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto in 1988, which enables her to understand healthcare policy and policy changes. Sheilagh graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Occupational Therapy) degree from McMaster University in 1994. In 2012, Sheilagh earned a Certificate in Adult Education/Staff Training from Seneca College. She applies adult learning principles to the workshops she leads. Finally, she also has a Master of Health Management (MHM) degree from McMaster University after graduating in 2015. Courses that Sheilagh completed during the MHM degree, such as Knowledge Translation, Evaluating Sources of Evidence, and Quality & Safety in Healthcare, assist Sheilagh in using an evidence-based approach in her work.

In her free time, Sheilagh enjoys running and practicing yoga.

Tilly Brook - Sunrise Medical Australia

Tilly Brook trained as an Occupational Therapist in Sydney, Australia. Whilst living in Sydney, Tilly worked at both Liverpool and Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney Brain Injury Units. Here she worked with clients with neurologic disabilities, providing both functional & cognitive rehabilitation and prescribing wheelchairs & seating.

In 2015, Tilly moved to Singapore where she worked with the Cerebral Palsy Association, Singapore. Whilst in this role, Tilly provided wheelchair and seating mentoring to Occupational Therapists, teachers, and carers, and was involved in prescription and procurement of seating systems for pre-school classrooms, enabling students to participate in tabletop activities with their classmates. Through these roles, Tilly was able to increase to the independence and function of many clients by upgrading outdated systems to current, tailored systems.

In 2017 she moved to Auckland, New Zealand where she worked with the specialized wheelchair service Mobility Solutions. Tilly was a prescribing therapist completing assessments and trials for both pediatric and adult clients with complex wheelchair and seating needs.

Tilly has a Master's of Occupational Therapy (Hons) from the University of Sydney (2010) and a Bachelor's of Health Science from the University of Adelaide (2007). She is a registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.

Tilly has a keen interest and passion for working with clients and their carers who have complex and difficult seating/wheelchair needs and enjoys working with other allied health providers to problem-solve and overcome barriers to their seating and mobility goals. She is a mom of two cheeky toddlers who keep her busy at home.
