Getting to know those athletes and their stories of perseverance & overcoming adversity is why I wanted to start this program. Wheelchair Basketball Quinte provides an opportunity for individuals of all physical abilities and exceptionalities to participate in the game of basketball.

Though many CRT users qualify for government assistance, it can still be extremely difficult for many to secure funding for this vital equipment. Currently, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) are looking to cut funding to "CRT accessories" for CRT manual wheelchairs. Though referred to as "accessories," these pieces and parts should be referred to as "critical components."

Shortly after I was crowned Ms. Wheelchair NY in 2013, my family, friends, and I wanted to celebrate my new title by doing something fun together. I searched for an activity that all of us could take part in and came across adaptive zip-lining close to home. Orenda Springs is an organization in Marcellus, NY that provides different individual and group team-building activities such as ropes courses, adaptive zip-lining, horseback riding, skiing, yoga, and camping.
