Introducing the Summer 2013 Propel Donation Program Recipients
Created in the fall of 2012 to support Sunrise Medical’s mission of “improving people’s lives,” Propel provides assistance to end users who may not have access to complex rehab products and technology.
Each quarter, the Propel Donation Committee reviews all submitted applications and selects one or more individuals to receive product donations.
Damon Bosier of Hawaii incurred a C6 Spinal Cord Injury 10 years ago and is always seeking out his next adventure. Damon’s first skydive trip even ended with a landing directly in his Quickie GT wheelchair! But Damon’s shoulders started to feel the wear of his action-packed life. Sunrise Medical and Damon worked with Frank Lane, an ATP with National Seating & Mobility out of Honolulu, HI, to pick out Spinergy LX wheels with Schwalbe Marathon tires to complement his GT. Damon says, "The next time I skydive into my Quickie GT it's going to look slick with my new Spinergy wheels in Johnny Cash Black!"
Cameron Irwin from Tasmania, Australia has been an example of “living without limits” since an accident six years ago resulted in quadriplegia. Cameron, one of the original Quickie Q7 believers, is a surfer, skydiver, wakeboarder, ATV rider, and motivational speaker. Cameron wanted a wheelchair that would allow him to pursue his passions, but does not have access to funding for this equipment. Cameron worked with Steve Fox, Regional Director at Sunrise Medical, to pick out a Quickie Q7 ultra lightweight, rigid wheelchair with Frog Legs suspension caster forks, Spinergy LX wheels, and Schwalbe Marathon tires.
