Meet Steve Boucher

My journey down the medical health profession path started back in 1991 when my mother fell off a ladder while painting our house. After attending many OT and PT sessions with her I enrolled into the Occupational Therapy program at the University of New England in Biddeford Pool, ME. Five years after watching that devastating fall I graduated and passed my OTR exam!

From there I took my first professional job as a therapist at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester, MA. It still reigns as one of the best times in my life. I had the opportunity to work on three different inpatient units encountering and treating a myriad number of diagnoses while working with a tremendous group of clinicians. My second year into my five year term I volunteered to join our outpatient wheelchair clinic team. I had excellent colleagues and soon realized a passion for prescribing complex rehab equipment. In 2003, after a brief stint as a Rehab Manager in Natick, MA. I was informed that Sunrise Medical was looking for a therapist who could learn the role of an Account Manager. I applied, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in that role. Two years ago I discovered the fun of teaching seminars and was fortunate to make the transition from sales to clinical education.

In the role as an educator I have been able to experience lots of laughter at my events, seen more places around the country than I ever imagined, and have taught and been taught lots of new ideas and techniques along the way!

Outside of work with Sunrise, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. When time allows for me to still be a kid, I play ice hockey although every year brings new pains to my body I had not experienced ever before.. HA HA!!

I hope you enjoy our blog and look forward to sharing ideas and strategies with all of you!
