Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness Hits Home

Over 40 years ago my parents built the house I grew up in on a quiet street in a close knit family oriented neighborhood. I was lucky enough to have friends living just a few houses and streets away. Looking back, it's amazing to realize how many of us stayed close from pre-school through high school into college. Thanks to social media I am still in contact with a number of my neighborhood friends and often meet up with a few when I travel home to see my parents.
